After choosing an actor, locations, costume and props Kiran and I went out to shoot our first few shots of the music video. The weather was ideal for the particular shots on the storyboard, for the flashback scenes as the weather was lovely and sunny which portrayed the emotions the character was feeling at that moment. Our chosen actor, Paige wore the outfit of the white and blue dress with brown sandals this chosen outfit was due to the colour and to perceive a casual look. Using heavy eye make up we aimed to make her her eyes really stand out and be apparent to the audience about the motif. We used the camera and tripod when filming as a lot of our shots needed to be steady. We filmed our journey to the first location so that we could build up the story line as well as experiment with the various camera work that could be used as it was our first time filming. We shot Paige stationary whilst in between a crowd of people walking around her, we would like to speed this shot up when editing to show that she is like in her 'own world' and not caring about others around her. We had some problems with this as the sun was shining in her face and the crowd was not very busy so did slightly relocate to capture the moment more effectively. The most successful shot that we were happy with were the shots taken in St. Mary's, we were able to be creative with the shots used and make use of the wide area available. We were also able to add segments that were not in the storyboard, today was a good day of filming and we were able to gain great shots. Although some shots may have to be re-filmed as the sun was in her face, which will be filmed hopefully next time.Filming Diary - Day One
