Filming Diary - Day Two

The second day of filming was a great success however we had limited time filming due to the weather, towards the end it started raining so we had to come to a close as it would have looked odd if at one moment it was raining and not the next. The filming today involved mostly the indoor shots, we filmed Paige in a black outfit with black heels and used the guitar prop. Her eye make up was again heavy and dramatic to outline the importance and significance. This time we spent more time on her eyes as we felt we did not add that much of an impact as we wished to the previous time, so this time we used glitter and gems on the eyes to create more emphasis. The filming consisted of both direct and indirect contact from Paige, we shot at different angles and distances to have more footage to experiment with. Lip syncing was a difficult aspect when filming as we are not using the actual artist of the chosen song, so our actor did have difficulty in learning the lyrics and singing the track. Although after a few takes we feel she mastered the track, we got the right footage for the particular scene and enough to experiment. This time we did a lot of extreme close-up shots on Paige's face and her fingers whilst she was playing the guitar, we want to use this to outline music to visuals. This footage was taken at a different location to what we intended, we liked the particular location and believed it suited the theme of the song. We came up with an idea when seeing the steps outside the window, we thought it would be good idea to film Paige's feet going down the stairs wearing different shoes to signify the change in time. So the transition of the present to the flash back of her in the past, these shots will be edited to run at consistently.
